We Party...All Weekend
Somehow, in being the hostess of this shindig,
the pictures just didn't happen.
I am pretty sure I was busy
and Bethany must have been otherwise occupied.
This is the group that was at our house all weekend.
These are the cousins who enjoyed each other's company that weekend.
Minus the baby, who was taking a nap at this point.

On Saturday, amongst other things,
our aunt came and passed out family heirloom quilts.
On Sunday afternoon we had a graduation open house.
Here's the sleeping baby indulging Rudy in his favorite activity.
Later Sunday afternoon most of the family returned home.
It was wonderful for all of us to be together again.
Monday morning the "fun" of marathon laundry and packing sessions began
since my parents and the three older children were leaving
that afternoon on a two week trip.
On our way to dropping them off at their hotel in San Francisco,
we made a stop in Chinatown for supper.
Naturally, we were dressed for the hot weather of the valley
and not the cool and misty summer weather for which S.F. is famous.
I think we gave my parents heart failure multiple times
just driving through this crazy city.
Our hot tea was especially tasty and the food wonderful.
After eating we wandered through the shops a bit
and Bethany acquired a sweatshirt to cover her shivering frame.
We got everyone situated in their hotel room, made arrangements
for the airport shuttle, and kissed everyone goodbye.
Tiana proceeded to fall apart, as usual, but she
fell asleep before we had crossed the San Mateo Bridge
so the ride home was peacefully quiet.
Now they have been gone a week.
Quite a bit has happened around here
and some things that should have happened have not got done.
Such is life.
I get texts every so often...
"Did you pack nail clippers for us?"
"Will ibuprofen help a pulled muscle?"
"I washed my cell phone in my pants."
"Check your Facebook in a few minutes and you will see
what we have been up to."
I am so glad they can have these experiences
but I sure do miss being with them.

Tiana has taken up reading the nutritional information on packages.
The other day she was sitting with my mom at the table reading the info
on the very unhealthy yogurt container.
She was shocked and loudly announced that there were 8 gigabytes of fat per serving.
It said, "8 g" so she, of the electronic generation, did not understand that "g" means grams.
