Christmas Run-through

Picture Alert!
Playing catch-up in this post.
(I guess that does not really matter since people seem to prefer pictures anyways.)

Family is definitely the spice of life.
The older cousins found time to add lots of flavoring to their days together.

We indulged our bowling "skills" one morning.

Decorating cookies is a not-to-be-missed event.

Karissa's horse was a diversion one very cold afternoon.
The sunshine was deceptive; the breeze was breathtakingly cold.

Then there was Laura's dog, Scooter, who eagerly arrived each day
looking for love, affection, and food.

We took an ill-fated drive up the mountain in three vehicles.
Everyone started out happy

but after car sickness, a scrambled lunch, and too much traffic,
the mood was not quite as bright .

The saving grace was getting to play for a little while in the snow in our own private meadow.

We ate meals together and simply enjoyed being with each other.

Our immediate family spent a day in San Diego,
first at the beach and then with Rudy's brother's family.

It was a good week that ended way too quickly.
Reality reared it's head and it was time to go home and
get the oldest packed to leave for Bible School the next day.
And then our January adventures began...
