This and That
Yes...I know. I am later than usual with a new post.
I will mostly blame it on only having one internet connected computer right now.
With three people being top priority with their school work, I fall to a lowly fourth place.
Some days I am lucky to be able to check my email on something other than my iPhone.

Last week was slightly on the crazy side with many things going on.
To make it crazier, right after we had hosted 25 people for a hot dog roast,
I came down with a head cold.
Me...who had just touched most of the food served that night.
Me...who had just touched most of the food served that night.
That is not the gift you want to give to other people.

On the academic side of life:
Bethany was invited to join the National Honor Society,
which she did in the Thursday evening ceremony.
There are only four returning members since the others graduated last year
so my boys had the honor (or was it horror?) of doing lots of public speaking.

Quite a variety of people know that our youth group sells almonds and walnuts
during the fall to raise money to travel to Bible School and Youth Retreat.
This seems to be my week for fielding inquiries from interested buyers.
Here are what almonds currently look like around here.

These nuts are waiting to go into the huller where the sticks, stones, and dirt
will be removed and the hulls cracked open.
Then they are shelled.
The walnuts are still being harvested
so most of them are still on the ground in the orchards.
Eventually, we will have nuts to sell.

Observation of the Week:
"You never think about your nostrils until they are plugged and you can't breathe through them."
You can tell that more than one person has had a cold lately.
My favorite quote of the week:
"Mother, you know so much!"
Granted, we were discussing British authors and their works, but I told the one who uttered this compliment that I was going to write it down and date it so I could use it for future reference (or ammunition).
